"Do My Best" Day

The Boy Scout motto is, "Do My Best!"  Today we definitely had a Boy Scout, "Do My Best" Day!

Oliver went on a special trip with Grandpa
to the Star of India this morning!  Awesome!

Oliver learning about the cannon!
He had a blast with Grandpa!

Doing his best on an art project!
Mommy is so glad Grandpa and Oliver got
to hang out together this morning!

While they hung out, Mommy did her best at
the San Dieguito 5K race!  She even got to meet
the Queen of England!

In the evening we did our best at the Blue and Gold
Dinner for the Boy Scouts!

He wore his uniform all day!

He has been working really hard on
catching up to the rest of the troop since
he started late.

The Mayor of Escondido gave an opening
speech.  He is very impressed with Pack 659!

Oliver was so excited to see his name in the program!

And he was excited to draw an orange tiger stripe
on Mommy's cheek!  Mommy was very proud of
Oliver and she felt very good reciting the pact
that all the "Akelas" pledge to their sons.
It feels good to be a part of this community.

Our honored hero at our table.

Many boys were honored tonight.  It was a long meeting
but very interesting and Oliver was a great listener!
He loved the raffles, even though we didn't win!

Oliver's got most of the pieces to his uniform now!

Caleb from our Den was the Scout that
was honored as a Blue and Gold Boy scout.
Oliver wants to work towards this honor.

Grammie did her best sewing this weekend sewing
patches on Oliver's uniform.  Thank you Grammie!

We will do our best to give Grammie a
special treat for all her patience and time
spent helping us.

Making a campfire.

Batman came to the dinner!

So did some guy name Philmore.

Den 7's centerpiece.

Mommy has to put both of these pictures,
they crack her up!

Symbolic table for a POW or solider at war.
It was a good reminder to remember to appreciate
our country and the people who serve.  It was
a good learning experience for Oliver.

We came home to find an envelope tucked in our door.
Our neighbors did their best at being really good neighbors!
Paula and Maggie gave us two tickets to Legoland!  Yay!
Mommy has NEVER been because of the cost.  Here
we come Legoland!

We had a really great day!
(Now Mommy needs to do her best to study.  Goodnight and sweet dreams.)
