Mommy picked up Oliver today at noon. He was safe. That made Mommy happy! The fire is pretty much gone. The hillsides are totally bare of vegetation and sad looking. We did some errands, chores at home, and had short bits of rest throughout the day.
On the way out of Oliver's Daddy's road we noticed the
fire gate was still open.
That's the new Palomar Hospital, they sheltered in place
instead of evacuating. Scary. Below it is the Stone
Brewery. (Mommy still has never been there, she
would like to go there sometime.)
We saw a bunch of fire trucks from Laguna.
They were coming out of the Inn-n-Out
parking lot. Hopefully, they were filling
up on some good burgers, fries, and
milkshakes after their hard much appreciated work.
Mommy had to get some blood drawn at Kaiser
and he helped himself to a complimentary mask!
Mommy then helped herself to the complimentary
Air Check at Discount Tires.
They had to patch up a nail hole. But first they took
off the wrong tire. And they tried to talk Mommy
into buying a new tire. Grrr.
We came home and cleaned our inspiration
room and we messed around in our Bernadette room.
Then we headed over towards Grammie and Grandpas!
First we took a look at the Poinsetta fires. It is one street above
our beloved library and Coffee shop.
Thankful for all the firefighters who came from
other Californian cities!
Checking out the area at the dead
end of W. Poinsettia Lane.
They were watering certain areas. Maybe
hot spots?
One home in this area burned. It happened to be
an older home that was not part of this development.
Firefighters from Arizona! So cool!
We came to one of our favorite places
to rest before bed. Mommy is super
tired today for some reason.
(Maybe her gardening yesterday?)
Mommy worked on stuff and the blog...
While Oliver worked on Wildkratts on www.pbs.org
Interacting with the camera. He was pretending
to be a bat!
Looking forward to a cooler together weekend and no more fire scares!
