Fancy Nancy

Mommy took Rachel to a Fancy Nancy event at the Carlsbad Library.  It was a lot of fun!

Fancy Nancy is a fun character!

Grammie got there early for us so that
we could be sure to see the illustrator's presentation.

Thanks Grammie!

Some friends met us there:
Maia, Mommy's teaching partner's
cute 4 year old fancy daughter!

Maia and Patricia!

Lots of art to work on while we waited.

Finally, the wait is almost over:

The Presentation:
Jane O'Connor the author is said to be a "Plain Jane."
She sure writes some fancy good stuff though!

Robin Preiss Glasser sure draws
some fancy pictures!  Fancy Nancy's
shape and hair are inspired from Robin's
favorite troll dolls!

Many of the movements that Fancy Nancy
makes on each page are inspired from Robin's
earlier days as a ballerina!

She taught all the girls who wanted to volunteer
how to hold a banana on their heads and practice
good posture!  Thats important when you dress
fancy she said!  Look how cute all the girls were dressed!
Danielle is on the far left!

The Book Signing:
Sipping tea and nibbling a cookie.

The Art Docents dressed liked waiters
and served us art and held our books!
So cute, fun, and creative!
