Diva Dash

So, this morning Mommy left Oliver with Grammy and ran the Diva Dash in Mission Bay.  Oliver woke up early, but watched Nick Jr.  Mommy had so much fun at the race that she wanted to write about it on our blog.  The weather was perfect for this kind of race.  Perfect.  Mommy listened to this song on the way there.  Of course.

Hopefully next year Oliver can come along and hopefully Aunt Jess can run too!  Maybe we can even talk Grammie and Aunt Ali into running with us! There was a nice playground right by the race course for all the babies!

This made Mommy kind of laugh.  Glad
she didn't need help from them.

One of the obstacles on the left.

The start line.

The finish line.

Before the race.

Our friend Sarah and her friend Melody.

Start line again.  Mommy was in the first wave.  She
likes to start up front...but her and some other girls
started to get a little timid.  We were worried that we would
get lost or lead people the wrong way.  All of a sudden....

this guy came out of nowhere in a green shirt and bright
green shoes, he was the leader.  We thought it was kind of
funny.  And you know since Mommy is such a dork, she
decided to get her picture taken with him.   He was a good
leader.  (Mommy likes leaders.)

Runners!

Tutu girls and another wave of runners.

Mommy thinks this is a nice quote, but
the opposite can also be true.  (Right?)

Another wave of runners waiting to leave.

Mommy finished 5th overall in the first wave.
5k obstacle course 25:04 min.  13th overall, 6th in age division.
The race was new to San Diego, a lot of things were
not very organized.  (Nobody is perfect.)
But the actual race was awesome.
Hopefully next year they figure some things out...

Wet and Sandy!

Mommy's friend Toni and her daughter Izzy!
They are smarty pants.  They took their shoes
off before getting in their car.

The Diva Dash had good swag.  (Mommy
really likes races with good stuff.)

Happy running and slipping on weird obstacles!
