Our Secret Garden

We definitely have a secret garden!  Almost everyday Mommy discovers something new in our yard.  Sometimes it is something growing, sometimes it might be an animal that is having a little too much fun, and every single day Mommy discovers different birds in our yard.  We are having tons and tons of fun outside.  It is crazy that when we moved here last September, the backyard just looked like a dirt lot, then winter came and we had an overgrown crazy yard (which Mommy didn't mind), and now we have a beautiful garden that keeps surprising us everyday!  Mommy is having so much fun learning about all the flowers, fruits, and vegetables.

She likes sharing it with people, so here are some more pictures!

Growing on the side of our home.

Growing next to the pretty pink flower.
It makes Mommy want to go somewhere tropical.

Beautiful.

Our Three Sister Plot.  Allison the beans are on the left,
Jessica the squash on the right, and Meredith the corn in the back.
Jessica the squash.  Look at her!

Wisteria on our trellis.  This is the second round of the
flowers.  So beautiful.

Plum tree.

Santa Rosa Plum Tree.  At least that is
what one of Mommy's locker room friends at
the Y thinks.  Mommy brought her a whole bag
full of bounty from our yard this morning.  She couldn't
stop eating it all!  She is going to bring Mommy figs
when her tree starts producing.  Yums!

Beautiful vines and flowers growing on a trellis
on the side of our home.

This picture is from about a month ago.  The vines
are growing fast and connecting themselves to our home.
Mommy goes over there every couple of days and cuts
them off, she doesn't want them to destroy our home.
Even though our home would look beautiful, probably
not a good idea.

The vines up close.  It is crazy how they
attach themselves, it looks like someone
 perfectly tied them.

Strawberries.  Something keeps eating our strawberries
when they are ripe.  Mommy planted more today
and covered the bed with netting.

Our Rosemary.  Mommy read in one of her magazines
that rosemary represents the strength of the
"matriarch in the home."  Mommy thinks she will grow
some more.  (Laughing.)  Mommy and Oliver also
noticed that Amanda has a ton of it growing in her front yard!
Watermelon.

Our wild pumpkin patch!

These just started growing on their own....

They are grapes!!!  Mommy wonders if they
have anything to do with the Ferrara Winery across
the street!  (She might need to go over there, soon.  She
wants to learn about the history of our little street.)

Pear.

Grafted tree.  Apricots and peaches.

Grammie's garden bed.  Peppers, tomatoes,
and lettuce.  Something keeps eating the lettuce
that sprouts up.  Mommy put a net over it, hope it works.

This is above Grammie's garden bed.  Mommy
took out a dead tree that kept threatening Grammie with its
branches when she was planting a while ago.  Mommy
planted something beautiful in its place.

Zucchini.

Mommy tried to grow a sunflower house in this plot.
Just a simple circle of sunflowers for the kiddos to go
inside of and play.  Only two sunflowers are growing.
Their names are Mommy and Oliver.

(Mommy's wheatgrass.)

We have tons of tomatoes!

Tomatoes and apricots today.  Yum!
