Jr. Carlsbad

This morning Oliver ran the Jr. Carlsbad.  On the way we stopped by the donut shop to get a donut and one for Grammie.  She always loves the pictures from donut Wednesdays so we brought her one!  Yums.  We picked up Oliver's race bib and went through the expo.  Oliver was sort of in a funky mood. He was happy one second, crazy the next.  He didn't want to put on his bib, so Mommy made a compromise with him and had him put it at the bottom of his shirt.  That worked for him, phew.

He did an awesome job running.  He didn't want to hold Mommy's hand this year, he got really into it.  He had the cutest facial expressions and moved his arms like a pro!  Grammie wasn't able to get any pictures of us running, but the images Mommy has in her mind are priceless.

Oliver is off with his Daddy now for a long weekend.  See you Monday little runner.

Picking out his donut.  Grammie liked her donut holes.

Two buddies walking to the race.
 Pre-race excitement.
 Picking up his race number.
He was the one of the first 500 to sign up...it's cheaper if you
sign up early.  So, he got a free Padres t-shirt.  Lucky!
 Oliver with his new shirt.
Taking a break to drink yogurt, and Mommy slipped on
his bib.  He wasn't too happy after that.
Mommy talked with the race ladies behind Oliver,
they talked Oliver into wearing his bib....they were funny.
Oliver after made a compromise with Mommy.  We used
that word, Mommy is just waiting for Oliver to start using it now...
 Jr. Carlsbad
After his race, with his medal.  He didn't want to
wear it.  But he is really proud of it!
Look who we ran into!  Danielle!
Funny toddler talk.
Mommy and Oliver picking up her race number
for tomorrow's Carlsbad 5000.

 Cute band.
Mommy's new parenting book.  It is kind of dense, which
is surprising for the subject.  But it helped remind Mommy
today, to be "playful" with Oliver when he was in his funky
mood.  Mommy started to sing a made up, "party pooper"
song on the way back to the car when he was whining.  The
best part was when he laughed and Grammie started singing it too!
(Mommy likes the headings in the red box, those are
all things she likes to work on.  Good stuff there.)

Fun Saturday morning.
