Today was READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY and Dr. Seuss's birthday! Mommy has been busy with another teacher planning a special kick off to our literacy week! Oliver was helpful and got ready and to school a little early so Mommy could get to work! He was especially excited that out of 25 guest readers to Mommy's school, Oliver's daddy had agreed to be there! We had police officers, firefighters, THE CAT IN THE HAT, the associate superintendent (who Mommy's partner assigned to read in her class...), the school board president, dog trainers with their therapy dogs, literacy coaches from the district office, Mommy's coworker from last year-a teacher/musician, and even a public librarian! So fun!
Mommy's principal and Oceanside's Deputy Mayor
reciting the pledge for our students!
After Oliver's Daddy read in a 1st grade class,
he came to say hi and talk to Mommy's 3rd graders.
They were really excited and had a lot of questions!
He told Mommy's students that he would give her
a pair of handcuffs if they were misbehaving.
(No thanks.) They thought it was funny and
so does Oliver! He really likes seeing these
pictures of his Daddy.
We celebrated the afternoon by going on a run with Claire:
Oliver tried to fix our old stroller.
Grandpa eventually did, while
Mommy got completely sidetracked....
By this little Yeti pajama head!
Claire wanted to go so bad with us that she put
on Oliver's shoes and basically told Mommy
to hurry up!
That stroller is so heavy!
This bike rider was a little slow today. Oh well.
On this day, remember:
(You matter.)
