Oliver and Grammie waited for Mommy at
Carls Jr!
Mommy came back quick from her 5K!
So we went to take some pictures!
Mommy and Oliver walking the empty start line together.
Start Line on Grand Avenue.
Finish Line on Carlsbad Blvd.
Mommy set a goal: to try and beat last year's time of 21:41.
She was successful, this year she ran the 5K in 20:51!
She was 28th overall in the Women 30-39 race and 15th in
her age division of 30-33. She feels really good about
her race today.
Fun medal this year!
While Mommy was taking pictures these two
were still having their Sunday morning breakfast club.
Mommy parked herself in the middle of them and
we got our picture taken. Tonight Oliver couldn't
stop laughing at this picture! He said he looked silly,
Mommy looked dorky, and Grammie looked a little
tired! Mommy likes the picture!
We found some treasures on our short walk back to the car:
A birthday car!
(For Someone Special!)
Neat car, neat stamp on Oliver's forehead!
We were intrigued by the books.
So we went to check it out.
It is a honor system lending/giving library.
We each found a book. We will bring
some to leave one day!
There was a neat letter slot on the black door.
Oliver looked in.
And saw a pretty amazing study! We are glad we
found this place, Mommy doesn't remember it
being there when Aunt Jess lived nearby.
We liked this too! It reminded us of Grammie
in her curlers!
After the race and some cartoon time for Oliver, we went to the Puppet Show in Balboa Park:
We parked next to a neat treasure. Can you
tell Mommy likes old cars?
And we like Balboa Park!
We thought we'd take the free tram for fun.
We waited for 5 minutes and Mommy got restless.
The Puppet Show wasn't a far walk.
(Mommy has been really restless lately.)
So she grabbed Oliver's hand and started to
run. She told him we were on a special
puppet mission and we had to go fast!
He really wanted to take the tram, but
thought this was fun too!
And seeing airplanes on our puppet mission!
We saw Peter Rabbit!
We got our tickets!
And watched the show!
We are going to try and come back to the next show
in two weeks during the Earth Day Festival. They
will be using life size puppets and the whole stage!
Oliver got to meet Peter and the Farmer after the show!
We visited England for a second after the show!
Then Oliver led us on a hike.
We finally made it to the Botanical Gardens!
Turtle!
Oliver spied a Hummingbird in its nest.
He has really good eyes, lots of people stopped
to look at his discovery!
We are glad we adventured to Balboa Park today!
On the way home we stopped at Ikea for some daycare stuff:
We ate dinner together!
Oliver shopped around...
Because Mommy gave him $6 to practice adding
and subtracting money and being responsible with
his choices! He chose some jars for bugs and another
bag of rocks!
We had a fun, fun day together!!!
