Grandpa and Grandma

This morning Mommy is remembering her Grandpa who passed away at Grammie's house last year.  Grammie took great care of Grandpa in his final days.  Grammie lost both of her parents within a year of each other.

Mommy's Grandma and Grandpa were very classy people.  Here are some snapshots from their lives:

Last year, Amanda gave this book to Mommy--right after
her Grandpa passed away.  It meant a lot to Mommy.
Mommy is going to take some quotes from the book...
"The capacity for hope is the most significant fact of life.  It provides
human beings with a sense of destination and the energy to get started."
-Norman Cousins-
"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when
our hearts are conscious of our treasures."
-Thornton Wilder-
"...everything in life responds to the song of the heart."
-Ernest Holmes-
"You can work miracles by having faith in others.  By choosing
to think and believe the best about people, you are able
to bring out the best in them."
-Bob Moawad-
"We all have the power to give away love, to love other people.
And if we do so, we change the kind of person we are, and we
change the kind of world we live in."
-Harold Kushner-
"People will try to tell you that all the great opportunities
have been snapped up.  In reality, the world changes every
second, blowing new opportunities in all directions, including yours."
-Ken Hakuta-

"Act boldly and unseen forces will come to your aid."
-Dorothea Brande-
"Believe in something big.  Your life is worth a noble motive."
-Walter Anderson-
One of Grandma's counted cross stitches:
"The key is to trust your heart to move where your unique
talents can flourish.  This old world will really spin when work
becomes a joyous expression of the soul."
-Al Sacharov-
Mommy wonders if Grandma put this up in the cottage
"Believe that some boundaries are meant to be crossed."
"The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more
there is in life to celebrate."
-Oprah Winfrey-
"Life is a great and wondrous mystery, and the only thing we
know that we have for sure is what is right here right now.
Don't miss it."
-Leo Buscaglia-
