Pinning Ceremony

Today was a special day, we attended Uncle Matthew's Nursing Pinning Ceremony at a Winery in Temecula.  It was a beautiful day!  It was a very nice ceremony and it was amazing to see all the new nurses who have worked so hard for the past two years.  We are very proud of Uncle Matthew!

The Nurse in the front is holding up a specimen cup,
filled with a Jello-Shot!

Waiting for the ceremony to start!

The Ceremony:

Nurses filing in, Uncle Matthew!

The Keynote Speaker.  She had a really great
motivational speech about, "On Being Great."
She had a long list of ideas, but she narrowed it down to seven.
Her ideas were fabulous!  They motivated Mommy!
(Mommy gets inspired easily.)

Taking a break from the ceremony.
Oliver was adventuring too.

Pins.

Candle Lighting.  This practice symbolizes one of
the most famous nurses, Florence Nightingale and her
"passing the flame" to fellow nurses, they hold their
lit candles and recite this pledge.

After the Ceremony:
Nurse Matthew!

These Uncle pictures didn't work out that well!

"As a nurse, we have the opportunity to heal the heart, mind,
soul and body of our patients, their families and ourselves.
They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel."

-Maya Angelou-

We are proud of all your hard work Uncle Matthew!  Congratulations!
