New Hospital Celebration

We had an awesome busy Saturday!  Oliver hung out with Grammie and Grandpa in the morning while Mommy took a Y break.  Then we were off to the library and open gym at the Escondido Y!  We rested a bit and then went on a special adventure!

We went to a community event!  A celebration of the
new Palomar Hospital that will open on August 19th.

We had a discussion about what a community it on the
way there.  Mommy also wanted Oliver to visit the hospital
celebration because he has been watching it be built for the
past three years that we have lived in Escondido!

We decided to take the shuttle bus from Cal State San Marcos.
Oliver likes to see Mommy's old school.

It has grown a lot since she graduated, ten years ago!
(The building on the left is the library.  That wasn't
finished yet when Mommy studied there.  She would
like to go back on a field trip to check it out!)

The shuttle bus system was a mess!
We waited in line for over an hour!
Oliver was a bit fidgety.

We didn't give up on our wait though.
Oliver really wanted to take the shuttle and
we both wanted to check out the new hospital!

Oliver sat on Mommy's lap int the front seat!

Finally there!

Wow!

There were a lot of healthcare booths and information.
Also free food.  After Oliver ate a hot dog, he got
his first snow cone.

Eating his snow cone.
(Rock.)

Then we waited in line for our tour of the inside of the
11 story hospital and got to see two newscasters!

Our Tour:

It has been pretty amazing to see it
being built!

ER Room.

Nurses Station.

 Pneumatic Tube.

Trauma room.

Pretty neat roof top.  We couldn't go out though.

After the tour Oliver played in the kids area!  He got
to do some gymnastics, go inside an ambulance, and
see some police vehicles!

News channel at the Hospital giving us lots of
information.  Over 10,000 people visited the new hospital.
Crazy!  We enjoyed learning about the new hospital!
