Successful Scout Camp

Oliver's first Scout camp was a success!  On the way home he said, "I'm saving my coins for next year!"  Yay, Mommy guesses she'll be signing him up for camp next year and working in the Trading Post again!  Fun!

Akelas were invited to come at lunch time and stay for the Cub Scout skits, some playtime, and then we took our cubs home an hour early.  The den leaders were ready for some sleep!  Oliver was rubbing his eyes at 4:00, but the the neighbor kids came over to play.  He got a second wind.  Lucky kid!

Oliver loved the archery!

Scout Donut Wednesday

We had a Scout, kind of summery Donut Wednesday.  We got the donuts the night before, so we could sleep and be lazy in the morning before Scout camp!
Choosing.

A little confused about what to get.

We figured it out.

Sleepyhead, donut head.
Don't you love his tank top!?

Yum.

Off to Scout Camp Again:

Mommy helped for a hour this morning to set up the post!

The Scouts practiced skits today and will do more
on their skit tomorrow.  Oliver is super excited about
his part and told Mommy all about it when she picked him
up from camp today.  He is so sweet.

(Goodnight and sweet dreams.)

Camp and Reading

Oliver had an amazing day at his first Cub Scout Camp!  It was at Kit Carson Park!  Mommy volunteered the whole day and will be back tomorrow- she was able to get a discount on his camp fee if she helped out!  Mommy would have helped anyway, it was fun!  But, we were both pretty tired at the end of the day!

Ready to camp!

Oliver and Grady with their hats, coin purses,
and belt packs- all the scouts are provided with
all three!  Nice!

Mommy wishes she could take more pictures, but
she was BUSY!  She doesn't want to embarrass
Oliver either.

She was busy getting the Trading Post ready.
Boys earn the coins for making good choices
and then get to spend them at the post.  Mommy
and two other moms set it all up.

Fun!

Sneaking a picture.

It gets pretty crazy when they come spend their coins!

We packed everything up and came home for a few minutes...

Then had some things we needed to do near Grammie's.
One was go sign up for the Summer Reading Program.
1st day!

Mommy signed up!

These two signed up!

Oliver reporting to Jacob, a scholar
from one of Mommy's old schools!

Claire was the volunteers first reporter.
We came at shift change time!  Claire
waited so patiently while the librarian
explained everything.

Claire answered the questions at the "Lobbery"
very well.  Her book was about "numbers" and
her favorite number was "green."  She did show
her favorite page beautifully!

This wall will fill up with names!

Choosing their free just right books!

Checking out a Superhero collection.
