Home

Mommy is so glad Oliver is home, even if its only for a day!  Oliver was happy to see Mommy too.  We look forward to spending the next four weekends together!  This afternoon we just played and danced, along with a few chores.

We had to get air in our tires!  Happy
missing tooth boy!

Mommy thought this sticker was funny!

Mommy thought the tire looked low.  Her gas went
really fast too.  The tire is supposed to be at 35, it
was at 24.  Whoops.

Back tires, didn't look as bad as the front.
(Mommy needs a good mechanic.)  Her engine
smells funny again.

Oliver showed Mommy his arrowheads from Idaho!
He also told Mommy sweet stories about his cousins!

He also got a bird in Idaho.  When he was showing
Mommy this the Escondido parrots flew around our
home squawking up a storm!  We love seeing them.

(Goodnight and sweet dreams.)

Beautiful Reader

So, Oliver had a lot of fun in Idaho!  Mommy talked to him on the phone last night and he couldn't stop talking, it was so cute!  Oliver's plane got in around 8 tonight, so he is staying one more night with his Daddy.  Mommy will pick her little traveler, missing an upper front tooth kid up tomorrow after school.  She is really, really missing him.

Mommy wants to acknowledge someone special tonight.  Cousin Denny has been reading Oliver's blog for a long time.  Its nice to share our thoughts with people who care.  Denny and Oliver got a chance to really meet each other when we were in Indiana.  They talked a whole bunch and Oliver really likes Denny, just like Mommy always has.  Denny posted something on her Facebook page this weekend that Mommy wants to keep documented in Oliver's blog:

Steve & I were nominated to do the ice bucket challenge, by our beloved grandson, Brayden, in an effort to raise ALS awareness. We have elected to make our donation in memory of a man we did not know, but who was very special to a young cousin, named Oliver. We donate in memory of Oliver's "Bhuta," his grandfather who passed from ALS. We challenge everyone reading this to consider donating to this worthy cause, or any cause of your choice.

It is amazing how much a silly ice bucket challenge has brought so much awareness to ALS and Mommy hopes that something good can come from all the money that has been donated.  ALS is so heartbreaking and Mommy wants to thank Denny for thinking of Oliver's Bhuta and for being such a beautiful reader of the blog.

Sweet Denny and Oliver

Oliver and Bhuta.

Donut Wednesday

We had a nice Donut Wednesday this morning!  We are glad we can continue our Wednesday morning ritual!

Searching.

Maple bar on edge.

Oliver was eating with his eyes this morning.

Mommy's Donut Hole.

Oliver lost his first top tooth today at his Daddy's!
Look at his cute smile!

Oliver is off with his Daddy now.  Mommy will see him again sometime on Monday evening.  Oliver is traveling on Friday to visit his Aunt Katy and her little family in Idaho.  Mommy can't wait to her about it!  Mommy misses Oliver already, we had a fun, silly dance party last night that will help carry Mommy through her days.

(Goodnight and sweet dreams.)

School

Today was Oliver's first day of school for the 2014-2015 school year!  He made a smooth return back to the first grade in Mrs. Belko's class.  Oliver is already fond of Mrs. Belko from some of his interactions with her last year.  We even saw her at Target once!  Fun!

Mommy is very proud of her brave first grade reader!

Mommy tried to race to pick up Oliver quickly after work,
but it was kind of difficult.

Luckily, Oliver loves playing with his
friends outside at the Y!  Cute Ms. Gio
is back this year too which is helpful
for Oliver's transition!

Oliver was happy to see Mommy and
he told Mommy a few things about
his day right away!  (Mommy
will tell you later what he said.)

He found his tile that he painted at the Art Festival
last school year!

We took his picture this afternoon!  Oliver
and his Daddy didn't have time this
morning.

So, so sweet!

Ready for School

Oliver got to visit his new teacher today.  He really likes her and is excited about this coming school year.  Mommy hopes he continues to be enthusiastic and ready to learn!

Mommy didn't get to see Oliver today, he went to the Bass Pro Shops somewhere far away, last minute with his Daddy.  Mommy is sad she didn't get to see her 1st grader before he starts school but she talked to him on the phone and also left all his supplies and snacks at their doorstep.

Mommy hopes Oliver has a wonderful day at school and can't wait to hear all about it when she picks him up at the after school program tomorrow!

Note:  Oliver and his Daddy may take Oliver's
picture tomorrow in front of the pecan tree,
here are instructions for them:

We usually take Oliver's first day picture here in front
of this tree...

Kind of close like this.  If they don't make
it to the tree, Mommy will take a cute one after school.

(Goodnight and sweet dreams.)

Walk

Mommy picked up Oliver this afternoon and we came home to do a bunch of stuff to get ready for school starting this week!  Mattias  finally came home from Canada today and wanted to play with Oliver!  They were busy in the backyard for awhile and then we went for our Sunday night walk.

There are a lot of other neat things in
the Kung Fu Panda yard they like
to look at!

Mommy is on the Grape Day 5K poster
hanging up around town.
We think its silly and its not even
from the race last year.

These two had fun in Trader Joe's looking for a monkey
named Armando.  Mattias introduced us to this game...
each day the monkey is hiding, you have to find him,
tell a clerk where he is and you get a lollypop!  Lucky!

They found Armando!

Mommy saw this on a table at Major Market, the Parade
from the Sunday paper.  The best main street in
the U.S.A. is where Mommy's old friend, Crystal and pen
pal since she was 7ish lived until she went away to college!
Mommy is going to read this Parade soon!
(She also really needs to work on her Indiana blogs.
She just has a lot to do right now.)
Mommy got to talk to Crystal on her mom's cell phone
at park, it was so so nice to talk to her.  Its like no time
had passed.  Mommy hopes to bring Oliver to park again
and maybe he can develop relationships like that.

Oliver is off with his Daddy tonight.  He gets to meet his teacher tomorrow!  He is super excited about having Mrs. Belko this year for his return to 1st grade.  Mommy can't wait to hear all about his visit when she sees him tomorrow!

Saturday

Mommy picked up Oliver this afternoon and we had a fun day together!

We went to Science Saturday at the Library:

A man in the courtyard was giving out
cars from his collection.  So nice!

Oliver chose this one that starts with an "M."

Then we went and learned about
the Science of CANDY!

Oliver made a marshmallow shooter and
measured the distance he shot his marshmallow.

This is what happens to m&m's when you put
them in water.

Dancing gummy worms in water and vinegar.

Taste Testing chocolate with Volunteer Joe!

Voting, it was a tie between white and milk
chocolate.

Real licorice!

Learning about a Bionic Eye with Joe!

And magnifying glasses.

Fun!

We checked out the Art Exhibit together about
cars and road trips!

Tomorrow is the last day of the exhibit!

Oliver going into the garage.

We thought maybe Uncle Chad had been in the garage!

We also went for a nice swim:

Mommy thought Johnny was being boring,
so we decided to try out others.

Oliver said David was dirty!  (Not true!)

Dave just wasn't right.
(Maybe, true a little.)

Susan, he wasn't sure about.

But Phil, was perfect!
Mommy decided Johnny wasn't so boring
after all and went and changed in him.  (True.)

It was hard to take this picture.

Oliver parked his car while we swam!

We had a great time in the pool together!

Then we came home and Oliver wanted
to try the ALS- Lou Gehrig's Disease Ice
Challenge in memory of his Bhuta!

Oliver wanted to try the Ice Bucket Challenge
He wanted two bags of ice and this big bucket.
He is a dreamer!  Watch the two videos below
and you will see that he persevered and made
it happen!

Now Oliver would like to have his Daddy, his Uncle
Joey and his Grandma try the Ice Bucket Challenge!
Check out this site for more information and consider
making a donation to help find a cure.

Mommy thinks that Bhuta would be very proud
of his little bird.

(Goodnight and sweet dreams.)
