Challenge

Oliver had a good afternoon with Grammie...mom had to host her Girls on the Run team's last practice/party and another board meeting.  They went to JJ and Souplantation.  Oliver said he wants mom to go to more board meetings.  

When mom walked through the door, Oliver showed her a challenge his teacher gave him.  It was a macbook box.  His teacher wants Oliver to make something with it.  Anything.  Be creative.  But he wanted to see effort.  Oliver has not been putting a lot of effort into his work at school.  Oliver is a smart kid and has the skills, he just doesn't seem motivated and inspired this year.  This box was motivating to him.  We brainstormed some ideas and he came up with an idea.  A comment and suggestion box.......mom will keep you informed on what happens with it!

Oliver is off with his dad for most of the weekend.  She'll see him on Mother's Day, before she goes away for the whole week to 5th grade camp!!! 

Motorcycle Monday

Oliver got picked up from school today and went on an adventure.  Him and his dad went to Dana Point and bought a used mini dirt back.  Oliver is pretty excited!

Sunny Sunday

Mom had her Girls on the Run race this morning.  She invited Oliver to come and hang out with a couple boys from her school...he declined.  He would have had fun, maybe next year.  Mom brought a sidekick home with her....it changed the course of our day and made the rest of the day easy with Oliver- even though she was only with us for about an hour.

It was a nice Sunday.

Junk

Oliver's transition has been tough.  We went junk shopping together.  He still couldn't let go of whatever junk is making him in a bad mood.  It gives mom a junky feeling.  Oh well, we'll work on it.  Sunday will be better.

We watched Pee Wee Herman together tonight and loved it.

Tuesday JJ

Oliver had a good day and went to JJ today.  He's been working hard at JJ and uses his strength to make the most of every interaction with the other kids.  

Mom went for a little walk.

She thinks we need to go to Cruisn' Grand soon.

We had a great first day of May.
