Chasing Pirates

All the kiddos- you can only see Oliver's feet...
 Korey climbing, Viana coloring
Oliver won't stop going under the coffee table-
it is actually annoying Mommy a lot.
Pirates

Today all the kiddos were at Mommy’s home.  We had fun reading poems about pirates and coloring pirate sheets.  Oliver especially liked coloring his boat picture, Mommy and Viana had fun coloring the boy and girl together.  Korey had fun trying to climb up to the table.

And anyone who knows Mommy really well (Amy and Amanda) they know she loves Norah Jones’ music.  This song is from her new album, so we had fun listening to it today.  Its fun to chase a pirate!

Truth

We got the truth today.  Oliver had his cast removed, had x-rays again, and the doctor told us that his arm was still a little soft and needed another cast.  (Mommy is actually relieved.)  Mommy wants Oliver's  elbow to heal properly.  Oliver got a black cast, Mommy wanted him to get a dark color because his last cast got so yucky.  Mommy was hoping he would pick purple because that is her favorite color, but he picked black instead.  He did a wonderful job again at the hospital.  Mommy is proud of her little man.

Afterwards, we made our way to the haircut place.  He sat in the "motorcycle" it is actually a Porsche, but he calls it a motorcycle.  He did an awesome job, and his hair won't be getting into his beautiful eyes anymore!  We came home and had fun cleaning up the house- Oliver helped Mommy a lot.  She likes to give him little jobs- he is learning to be a responsible little boy!

Oliver is off to be with his Daddy for his long stretch.  Missing you already little man (but see you for "daycare" tomorrow.  Lucky Mommy.)

After they cut off his cast...he didn't want to straighten
it for Henry the x-ray tech.
 Getting his new cast.
Oliver did such a good job- the cast guy said that
Oliver did a better job at following directions than
most of the older boys that come through there.
Good job little man!

Videos

We have been taking a lot of videos lately (and Mommy really enjoys watching them- they make her laugh.)  So, Mommy decided to make today a video blog day.
Playing with our bouncy ball...fun.
Korey came dressed like a little devil today, Mommy
got out her horns to wear too!
Oliver working- but look at Korey!  He is crawling!
He has been working on this for the past couple of weeks
and finally realized he can get to something he wants.
Today it was Mommy, he wanted lots of cuddles because he has a cold!

Oliver putting Mommy's tires on,
(shoes- he picked them out from Mommy's closet, not her 1st choice...)
later he worked on her axels (socks)- taking them on, taking them off, repeat..

Rainy Day Recess

Last night Oliver and Mommy slept at Grammie's house.  Mommy woke up super early to visit her Y friends and then go "babysit" the 6th graders at Phoenix.  (Mommy loves the fire that burns in kids that age, they made her laugh a lot and towards the end of the day she let her guard down and made them laugh tons too!)  Mommy was also glad she brought her "inspiration" notebook with her, because there were a lot of ideas she heard throughout the day she didn't want to forget.  And, there were a lot of words she came across that she wanted to look up later-- she likes to do that and keep the definitions in her notebook.

While Mommy was working Oliver was busy at Grammie's house.  Grammie heard his footsteps when he awoke and greeted him in the bedroom to make him feel safe and comfortable.  He spent the day being respectful and also mowing her house- he couldn't go outside because of the rain...it was rainy day recess for a lot of kiddos today.

Mommy was feeling very playful at school so she sent her old scholar, Connor a note during class.  (Connor is Oliver's chocolate cake- hopefully Mommy's Chocolate cake- Connor's teacher- wasn't interrupted by the note passing....)  So, after all the note passing was done, Connor came with Mommy to surprise Oliver after school and we did some errands together.  Those boys sure had fun!  Too bad Mommy didn't have the boy's theme song to play in the car.  They both love anything that has to do with Cars.  We had a great Monday full of caring people and happiness!
Mommy's Note to Connor (If you click on it you can read it better.)

Connor's Note back to Mommy  (He is so cute!)
Mommy sent another note back- his Mom is going to keep them
in his 2nd grade scrapbook...

This is how Mommy found the boys after she re-checked out her book...
Mommy is so glad that Oliver enjoyed Connor's read-aloud.

More Treasures...

This morning we received some more treasures.  Treasures that made both of us feel pretty good.

We picked up Grammie and went to the Parent Connection’s (our playgroup’s organizer) swap meet.  It was amazing.  Oliver was on the lookout for a lawn mower.  We went through all the rows, searching, searching…Mommy kept telling Oliver to keep his eyes open for that mower.  Mommy was looking too and so was Grammie.  But, Oliver found it.  Lucky, he had his eyes open and made contact with that mower or we could have missed this awesome opportunity…(Mommy and Grammie knew that if we didn't find one we would be off to the toy store for a new one.)

We spent the rest of the afternoon at Grammie’s and at our home- mowing, mowing some more, playing with our “new” water/sand table, and resting.

We were also working a little on our message boards.  Mommy wrote our names on them in permanent marker so that we know which one belongs to us.  Mommy wants Oliver to start learning how to identify the spelling of his name- getting ready for preschool!  But, Oliver got a little confused and wrote on Mommy’s board.  Hopefully, he starts writing on his board!  Cutie pie!
With his new mower...
Funny picture from last night....he is actually fast asleep...

We "bumped" into Mommy's Chocolate Cake!
 Neat Old High Chair
Mommy likes that blue chair too!
And the little wooden ironing board...
Oliver with all of his treasures...
Playing with the water table...being very very
careful not to get his cast wet.
Our boards- hopefully we won't get confused anymore.
Oliver writing on Mommy's board-oops.
Before he found the mower, he wanted something else...so glad
we found what we were looking for...

It has rolled back...

So, this morning Uncle Matthew came over to play with us.  He and Oliver played a lot of bouncy ball (Mommy is ready to play again too).  Then they played a lot of hide n’ go seek, while Mommy went to the Y and did some errands.  Uncle Matthew said it was a lot of fun to play with Oliver- O would tell him where to hide…Cute.  It is fun having Uncle Matthew come over and Mommy enjoys seeing Haley dog and making Uncle Matthew a healthy lunch.

In the afternoon we stopped by Julianne’s fundraiser garage sale.  We got some treasures and had fun
seeing her.  Then we were off to Mayah’s (from playgroup) 3rd Birthday party.  We had a nice time seeing all the playgroup families and playing.  The kiddos are all getting so big!  We had a wonderful Saturday.
Playing Bouncy Ball...
Ready to play?

Oliver spotted lavender on his own at Julianne's house-
he picked some for Mommy and for pretty Julianne.

Rainbows, the Moon, and Birds for Bhuta

 Christmas 2007

 Summer 2008
 Summer 2008
Oliver gave Bhuta many many bird kisses- Fall 2009
Those bird kisses were special. Fall 2009

It has been a year now since Bhuta left us.  It feels like only yesterday Oliver was dancing in the rain for his Bhuta, and rainbows were appearing everywhere for sleeping Bhuta.   Mommy always tells Oliver that he is at peace now.  Oliver’s Bhuta was a very courageous, sweet, and funny man.  We will always, always love him to the moon and back.

Here is a special song that Mommy and Oliver often sang to Bhuta.
