Preschool

Today Mommy had to wake up Oliver to get him to school on time.  Mommy woke him up by singing the “Good Morning Song” by Greg and Steve.  Oliver liked Mommy’s little surprise wake-up this morning (its nice to get little warm fuzzies in the morning…they make a happy start to your day.)

Mommy took Oliver to preschool- he had an awesome day there.  His favorite part of today was playing on the playground.  He was happy that we found his Cars hat, and he wore it the whole day.  In the evening he helped Mommy with some errands.  We had a great day.

Fun Monday

Oliver and Mommy had a super great Monday.  Today Mommy cared for a new little friend, a 3 month old little boy.  Oliver was super excited to help Mommy care for the baby.  Mommy is super excited too (she likes figuring him out…), this baby is a sweetie.

Oliver played a lot around our home and outside too!  Grandpa came over in the afternoon to finish up some things.  Oliver loves being a helper.  In the evening Oliver got to run a couple of errands with Grammie—thanks Grammie-- while Mommy took a Y break.  We had an awesome day!
Using sidewalk chalk...but got sidetracked and started
working on Mommy's car.
Running around in his cape and crown.

It looks kind of weird, but kind of cool
at the same time.

Belmont Park

We had another great day.  In the morning we went to Grammie and Grandpa’s again—Oliver watched football with Grammie while Mommy went to the Y.  Oliver is learning a lot about football from Grammie…they have a lot of fun together.

After we went to Aunt Jessica and Uncle Chad’s house.  Oliver loves their new house- he hadn’t seen it yet.  He was a little hesitant at first, but he loved the rooms and all the sweet little touches that Aunt Jess and Uncle Chad have added to their first home.

Aunt Jess, Oliver, and Mommy went to Belmont Park for some fun!  We had a blast in the maze, played Pirate Miniature Golf in the dark, played lots of arcade games, and more!  We had an awesome time!

Birthday Party

Today was a really great day.  Mommy and Oliver stopped by Grammie and Grandpa's in the morning.  Oliver spent some time with them while Mommy went to the Y.  We went Cruz's 3rd birthday party around noon.  It was awesome!  Cruz had his party at Cardiff Sports Park and he had a reptile man bring all of his snakes and some spiders.  It was so cool!  We had so much fun visiting with our playgroup friends, playing on the playground, and investigating the animals.

Later we came home and rested, and then played with Uncle Matthew.  Oliver always has fun playing with his Uncles!  The boys built a fort out of all of our blankets and pillows, and had fun playing in the playroom.

Special Treats

This morning Mommy got a special treat—little man!  She got to see him earlier than planned.  We had a great day together.  We went to Grammie and Grandpa’s house and played, then came home to rest and play some more.

In the late afternoon, we got another surprise treat—Uncle Chad and Aunt Jessica came over.  We had fun eating Mexican food with them, laughing, and playing.  Aunt Jess helped give Oliver a bath, he doesn’t put up that big of a fit when he has an audience.  After they left, Oliver and Mommy went and hung out at the bookstore for a while.  We had fun reading more special treats in the cozy kids section.  We came home and Oliver followed his night routine well....sleep tight little man.

Oliver likes to wear his beanie, he also wanted to wear
Mommy's devil horns.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Walking down the hallway to his classroom....can you spot
his picture on the wall?
 His little cubby.
Footprint Turkey. Oh my gosh, so cute!

Oliver went to preschool this morning.  He was a little pouty in the morning, saying he didn’t want to go—but once we were in the car he was excited.  They were having a Thanksgiving feast at lunchtime.   They will be serving turkey, cheesy mashed potatoes, a whole grain roll, and veggies.  Mommy gave him a big hug goodbye in the classroom and he gave Mommy the sweetest kiss ever.

After preschool, Oliver will be off with his Daddy for Thanksgiving.  Have the best day ever little man.  See you Friday afternoon.  Can’t wait to hear your turkey stories.

Turkey Dinner

Oliver didn’t want to get up this morning, he was too cozy.  Mommy had to get him up though so he could go to preschool!  He had a great time there.  He said his favorite part of the day was playing on the playground.  In the afternoon, Mommy and Korey picked him up.  Oliver ate dinner, played, and we sang a fun Thanksgiving song.

In the evening we headed over to Grammie and Grandpa’s house.  Oliver hung out with them for a bit—he was glad to see Grandpa.  They had a nice conversation about some jobs they are going to work on together.  We had another great day.

Singing the Turkey Dinner Song

Turkey Dinner Song - sing to the tune of Frere Jacque

Turkey dinner, turkey dinner,
Gather round, gather round,
Who will get the drumstick?
Yummy, yummy drumstick,
All sit down, all sit down.

-Another fun verse-

Cornbread muffins, chestnut stuffing,
Puddin’ pie, one foot high,
All of us were thinner
Until we came to dinner;
Me oh my!  Me oh my!

Sandbox and Reading

This morning Korey, Riley, and Oliver all showed up around the same time.  The boys wanted to play outside right away.  Oliver went straight for his hook- and Mommy made one for Riley from some branches that fell this weekend.

Soon they came to the backyard and played in our new sandbox.  Oliver loves it!  Mommy likes it too!  It’s nice to have one area for the boys to focus on, where Mommy can see them playing!  The boys played well together today.

In the late afternoon we read a few books.  Our favorite was Go Dog, Go!  Written by P.D. Eastman.  This book often gets confused as one of Dr. Seuss’s books.  It’s easy to make that mistake- the illustrations look similar and the simple text reminds Mommy of some of Dr. Seuss’s books.   The boys loved every second of that book!  (Mommy likes the ending, it is really cute.)  We had a fantastic day!
